The Challenge
The Whiddon Group launched a Lighting Upgrade Program in May 2014 to refresh the lighting within their 19 Aged Care Facilities across metropolitan, regional and remote NSW. Their aim was to replace the lighting with more energy efficient options, which would improve lighting for their staff and residence while also reducing energy and maintenance costs.
The Solution
With proven experience in delivering high quality innovative projects, Green Connection Group was selected to deliver The Whiddon Group’s Lighting Upgrade Program. The Whiddon Group understood that by appointing a team that effectively communicates with a wide range of stakeholders any disruption to business operations, residents or staff would be minimised.
Green Connection Group worked closely with the Facility Management team to conduct site evaluations to better understand the requirements of each site. With access to a wide range of suppliers and brands Green Connection Group was able to identify the best upgrade solutions for each lighting type. A comprehensive proposal and works schedule was developed for using Green Connection Group’s in-house team and where instructed engaging directly with The Whiddon Group’s preferred local electrical service provider. Green Connection Group completes thorough post project auditing for quality and compliance with Australian lighting standards. Through our accreditation under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme The Whiddon Group was able to reduce their upfront capital cost on average by 31%.
